Before manually typing a frame number, or entering one of the keyboard commands (described below), onto the exposure sheet, a position must be marked on the sheet with a click of the mouse. (If two markers are present — the mouse has been "dragged" during the marking — the keyboard command will be put in the position that was marked when the mouse first was clicked.)
B is a "blank" or white frame. It is equivalent to a completely white recorded frame. This is useful at the start or end of a scene or whenever a pause of specific length is needed, since it will not consume picture memory, nor will it interfere with the numbering of the drawings. If a pause with a blank image is required, the necessary number of empty frames should first be inserted ("Insert empty" menu command) and the "B" should be entered in the first of the empty positions. (To pause while displaying a drawing, insert empty frames, but do not put a B on the x-sheet.)
S is the stop command, which will end the animation and return to the x-sheet display.
R is a repeat command, which will restart the animation from the beginning of the exposure sheet, or from a marker (if present).
W inserts a wait command on the sheet. When this is encoun- tered during the animation, a "Continue" button will appear and the animation stops until the button is pressed.
E (or backspace or zero) erases the marked frame, and the previous drawing will be "held" for as long as there are empty positions on the sheet.
NOTE: There can only be one S or R on the exposure sheet. Whenever you type an S or R, any previous one will be erased. You should always have an S at the end of your x-sheets if you intend to use the "Combine files" command in the Main Display.
Exposure Sheet Buttons

Selecting this button will play any sound in memory in sync with the animation. (See the "Sound" chapter for more info on sound features.) Even if only a part of the x-sheet is selected and marked, the sound will still be in sync.
If the "Play sound" button is dimmed, no sound exists in memory. The state of this button determines if sound is to be played when a scene is shown by pressing the "Show" button in the Main Display.
If a scene is loaded from the Main Display with sound loading chosen in its Options menu, any sound file with the same name as the drawings (plus the suffix"-snd") will load together with the drawings and this "Play sound" button will be set.

shows the animation according to the exposure sheet, starting at the beginning of the sheet if no markers are present. If one marker is present, it is used as the staring point, and if two markers are shown, this button will show the part of the animation that lies between the markers. During the animation this button changes its label to "Cancel" and can be used to stop the animation. A "W" on the exposure sheet halts the animation and displays a "Continue" button. When a "S" is encountered on the exposure sheet the display returns to the x-sheet. If the animation appears jerky, please check that no other application is running simultaneously, or that your Mac is involved in traffic on an office network.

Click this button (or double-click a frame on the x-sheet) to display a frame full-size, together with some buttons and an input field:

By typing a number (between 1 and 100 inclusive) you can change the timing of the X-sheet on a frame-by-frame basis. Click on < or > buttons to time other frames, or click on OK to return to the x- sheet. The X-sheet will be redrawn with the new timing when you click the OK button.

(NOT IN LE VERSION) This button toggles between the two pages of the X-sheet, thus enabling you to time an animation of up to 61 seconds. The X-sheet will be redrawn when this button is clicked. Cutting and pasting can be done across the pages, but if the section to be moved spans both pages, the operation has to be done in two parts.

This returns to the main display. The exposure sheet will remain in memory and will be redisplayed when the "X-sheet" button on the main display is clicked. Any x-sheet frames in "edit memory" will be lost, however.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you wish to continue recording more drawings after viewing the x-sheet, mark the position on the sheet where you want the automatic numbering to resume. Otherwise information on the x-sheet may be overwritten during recording.
